Scope of Work & Commercials
Client: Localisation Training Program conducted in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – Kafayat initiated to contribute to in-country value creation
As part of the social contract with its growing populace, the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) seeks to expand the number of local Saudis working in the oil patch.
Since most of the jobs are highly technical in nature, there is a need for effective technical capability development, tied to a smooth hiring and induction process. Increased Saudization (localization) has been one of the local state-owned oil company, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Aramco’s, stated goals for some time. But Oilfield Services (Oilfield Services) companies that serviced Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Aramco have struggled to meet targets as the increasing demand in the face of a limited supply encourages attrition and drives up crew day rates.
They also face higher costs (both in direct personnel training investments, time pressures and opportunity costs) and in risk (loss of expensively trained personnel, unpredictable industry & macroeconomic cycles). Several vocational training programs have been launched and funded but their limited capacity lags far behind the demand for Kingdom of Saudi Arabia talent. These programs also tend to be more focused on theoretical / classroom training.
GET Global Group leveraged its strong roots in recruitment and training by creating the Kafayat (“Talent”) program. The objective of this program is to make available for the Oilfield Services companies a sustainable flow of competent and motivated young Kingdom of Saudi Arabia employees. In addition to the classroom training, the program equips young graduates with a realistic introduction to life in the industry. The program focuses on helping them to successfully navigate the crucial first few months of employment – when attrition peaks. We recruit promising graduates from local vocational institutes who have completed technical diploma requirements
of relevant programs such as Industrial Mechanics, Electrical engineering, Electronics etc. and subject them to a rigorous screening based on:
Selected candidates go through a six week long Blended Learning program in which they are introduced to:
After completing classroom training, they are placed with one of the Oilfield Services companies in Kingdom of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Arabia for a field experience internship for 6 weeks.
Following this the successful candidates are then offered to all Oilfield Services companies to be deployed as field-ready assistant operators.
This program has been running since mid-2022 and have multiple batches completed. Oilfield services companies are pleased to have access to potential employees who are ready to go to work where in the past they have struggled to attract candidates or to retain them in the face of the harsh life at the wellsite.
The deployment of our Kafayat crew creates additional value to Oilfield Services companies’ operations:
A recent development has been an agreement with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Council of Engineers to collaborate with GET Global Group. GET has access to a larger intake of trainees and equip the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Council of Engineers graduates with enhanced opportunities with desirable employers in the oil patch. GET Global Group is now taking this same model and implementing them in other parts of the world, including in frontier oil economies.
